Below are some recent announcements from Turner released during the build-up to Saturday's presentation at the TCA Winter 2017 Press Tour. We'll be making more announcements on Saturday during the presentation, so be sure to check back here for all the scoop.

TBS Greenlights Animated Series The Cops (working title) Starring Louis C.K. and Albert Brooks

Turner's TBS has greenlit ten episodes of the animated series The Cops (working title), starring and co-created by Louis C.K. and Albert Brooks. The two also serve as executive producers on the series with Greg Daniels, Dino Stamatopoulos, Dave Becky and Howard Klein. The Cops is produced by FX Productions, Louis C.K.'s Pig Newton and Turner's Studio T, and is slated to premiere in 2018.

The Cops follows Al (Brooks) and Lou (C.K.), two Los Angeles patrolmen trying their best to protect and serve, sometimes failing at both. Ride with them as they patrol one of the biggest cities in the world, then go home with them and be glad you're not married to either.

"We have made the bold decision to put Louis C.K., Albert Brooks and Greg Daniels at the forefront of what is going to be a serious push into animated comedy for TBS in 2018," said Brett Weitz, executive vice president of original programming for TBS. "I only hope these newbies know what they're doing."

As the latest series in TBS's growing animation pipeline, The Cops joins TBS's iconic hit American Dad!, from Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman, which is currently in its 12th season on Monday nights. TBS's surge in animation also includes the upcoming series Tarantula, a dark comedy from Carson Mell about the residents of a seedy hotel, and Final Space, an interstellar comedy created by independent filmmaker, actor, comedian and entrepreneur Olan Rogers.

Animation is a key component of TBS's extensive brand evolution, which began last year with an unprecedented string of new comedy hits, including Angie Tribeca, The Detour, Wrecked, People of Earth, Search Party and the buzz-generating late-night powerhouse Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. Those shows will be joined in August by Greg Garcia's comedic anthology series The Guest Book.

TBS Unveils Cast and Guest Stars for The Guest Book

Comedy from Emmy® Winner Greg Garcia Slated to Premiere in August

TBS's The Guest Book is filling up quickly with notable entries. The new comedy series from Emmy® winner Greg Garcia (My Name Is Earl) has locked its first-season cast and guest cast. The Guest Book is slated to premiere on TBS in August.

Among the regular and recurring cast members joining The Guest Book are Kellie Martin (Army Wives) as Officer Kimberly Leahy, who serves on the police force in the small mountain town of Mount Trace. Charlie Robinson (Hart of Dixie) is Wilfrid, an easygoing, friendly gentleman who manages a group of mountain rental cottages with his wife, Emma, played by recurring guest star Aloma Wright (Suits), Carly Jibson (Broadway's Hairspray) is Vivian, a tough, strong-willed woman who runs a bikini bar called Chubbys with her stepson Frank, played by Lou Wilson (Tween Fest). Rounding out the first season cast in recurring roles will be Garret Dillahunt (The Mindy Project), Laura Bell Bundy (Scream Queens) and Eddie Steeples (My Name Is Earl).

The Guest Book has also lined up an impressive list of guest stars, reserving the talents of Danny Pudi (Community), Jenna Fischer (The Office), Tommy Dewey (The Mindy Project), Lauren Lapkus (Orange Is the new Black), Michaela Watkins (Casual), Mary Lynn Rajskub (24), Michael Rapaport (Sully), Kate Micucci (Raising Hope), Jaime Pressly (My Name Is Earl), Stockard Channing (The Good Wife), Andrew J. West (The Walking Dead) John Ortiz (Togetherness), David Zayas (Gotham), Shannon Woodward (Westworld), Margo Martindale (The Good Wife) and Stephnie Weir (The Comedians) for the anthology-style series.

The Guest Book emerged from Greg Garcia's habit of writing fictitious stories in the guest books of various rental cabins in an effort to freak out the next renters. Now he is bringing some of those stories to life on screen centering on the vacation home Froggy Cottage and its visitors. While the house and cast of characters living in this small mountain town remain the same, each episode will feature a different set of vacationing guests.

The Guest Book is a co-production of CBS Television Studios and Turner's Studio T. TBS has ordered 10 episodes of the series, all of which are being written by Garcia, who also serves as executive producer along with Alix Jaffe.

Dakota Fanning Joints TNT's The Alienist

Fanning to Star with Daniel Brühl and Luke Evans in Drama Series Based on Caleb Carr's Bestseller, Co-Produced by Paramount Television and Studio T

Dakota Fanning (American Pastoral) is set to star in TNT's The Alienist, the eagerly anticipated series based on the Anthony Award-winning New York Times bestseller by Caleb Carr. Playing Sara Howard, a headstrong secretary at Police Headquarters, Fanning joins recently cast Daniel Brühl (Rush, Inglorious Bastards, Captain America: Civil War), who stars as forensic psychologist Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, and Luke Evans (The Girl on The Train, The Hobbit trilogy), who will play reporter John Moore. The series will follow the three of them as they investigate a series of brutal murders in New York during the Gilded Age.

Slated to premiere in late 2017 on TNT, a division of Turner, The Alienist will be directed and executive-produced by BAFTA-nominated director Jakob Verbruggen (Black Mirror). The series is a co-production of Paramount Television and Turner's Studio T. Emmy® winner Cary Fukunaga (True Detective), Academy Award® winner Eric Roth (Forrest Gump), Oscar® nominee Hossein Amini (Drive) and Anonymous Content's Steve Golin and Rosalie Swedlin all serve as executive producers. Production will begin in early 2017 in Budapest.

Based on the international best-selling novel by Caleb Carr, The Alienist is a psychological thriller set in the Gilded Age of New York City in 1896, a city of vast wealth, extreme poverty and technological innovation. When a series of haunting, gruesome murders of boy prostitutes grips the city, newly appointed police commissioner Theodore Roosevelt calls upon criminal psychologist (aka alienist) Dr. Laszlo Kreizler (Brühl) and newspaper reporter John Moore (Evans) to conduct the investigation in secret. They are aided by a makeshift crew of singular characters, among them the intrepid Sara Howard, a young secretary on Roosevelt's staff who is determined to become the first female police detective in New York City. Using the emerging disciplines of psychology and early forensic investigation techniques, this band of social outsiders tracks down one of New York City's first serial killers.

Fanning's character, the primly dressed but beautiful Sara Howard, is the first woman hired by the New York Police Department and she is determined to become the first female police detective in New York City. Self-possessed and intelligent, Sarah grew up as an only child who was doted on by her father. She not only "shakes hands like a man," but considers herself just as competent – if not more so – than any of the men on the force. Well-bred and well-spoken, Sara has a keen interest in crime-solving and is immediately intrigued by the case being investigated by Kreizler and Moore.

Fanning can currently be seen in the critically acclaimed, 1960s-set feature film American Pastoral, directed by and co-starring Ewan McGregor. Her recent credits include The Benefactor, with Richard Gere; The Runaways, with Kristen Stewart; Night Moves, with Jesse Eisenberg and Peter Sarsgaard; The Last of Robin Hood, with Susan Sarandon; and the blockbuster Twilight saga. She began her career as a child actress, turning in memorable performances in I Am Sam, opposite Sean Penn, and Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds, both of which earned her Critics Choice Awards. Her other credits include The Secret Life of Bees, Man on Fire, Charlotte's Web and Coraline, in which she provided the voice for the title character. In 2017, she will be seen in Please Stand By and Brimstone, followed in 2018 by roles in The Bell Jar and Ocean's Eight.

TNT Renews Seductive Thriller Good Behavior

Top 20 Cable Drama Charts Key Demo Growth Across First Season as Latest Data Shows Best Performance to Date with Adults 18-49

Turner's TNT has ordered a second season of its hit drama series Good Behavior, starring award-winning actress Michelle Dockery. Juan Diego Botto, Terry Kinney and Lusia Strus also star in the seductive thriller, which is executive-produced by Chad Hodge and Blake Crouch and based on a series of books by Crouch. The entire first season of Good Behavior is currently available on TNT On Demand and TNT's digital and mobile platforms. The second season is slated to launch in the fall.

In its first season, Good Behavior reached an average of 4.4 million viewers per episode across TNT's linear, digital and mobile platforms and ranks as one of cable's Top 20 new primetime dramas of 2016 with adults 18-49. Good Behavior has seen demo growth across its first season and just scored its biggest delivery of adults 18-49 yet, nearly 40% more than its premiere night. The drama has performed particularly well in VOD, mobile and digital, with on-demand viewing accounting for 15% of its total audience.

"Fueled by unsinkable characters on a dangerous search for belonging, love and family, Good Behavior is addictive television," said Sarah Aubrey, EVP of original programming for TNT. "Millions of viewers have fallen hard for this sexy, complicated couple, and in season two, Letty and Javier will give us plenty more to obsess about."

In addition to its ratings success, Good Behavior has drawn a great deal of critical praise from such outlets as The Hollywood Reporter, which said, "Good Behavior kicks off as maybe the best drama pilot TNT has produced since Southland," with "a virtuoso performance from Michelle Dockery and the kind of intriguing loose ends that keep you wanting to come back." And the LA Times called it, "…smart and suspenseful…a first-class Southern noir."

Good Behavior tells the story of Letty Raines (Dockery), a thief and con artist whose life is always one wrong turn or one bad decision from implosion. Fresh out of prison, Letty tries to stay afloat; reunite with her 10-year-old son who is currently being raised by her mother Estelle (Strus); and show up for the mandatory check-ins with her parole officer Christian (Kinney), who carries his own demons which cause him to relate to Letty in a way that threatens his ability to do his job. Chaos returns to Letty's life when she overhears a hitman (Botto) being hired to kill a man's wife and decides to derail the job, entangling the pair in a complex and dangerously captivating relationship.

TNT's Good Behavior is executive-produced by writer/showrunner Chad Hodge and author Blake Crouch, along with executive producers Marty Adelstein (Aquarius, Prison Break, Teen Wolf) and Becky Clements (Aquarius, Last Man Standing) of Tomorrow Studios, a partnership between ITV Studios and Marty Adelstein.

truTV Greenlights New Series from Comedy Icon Amy Sedaris

Untitled Amy Sedaris Project Brings Comedian's Distinct Brand of Humor to Network's Comedic Programming Slate

Ahead of its Television Critics Association Press Tour Panel today, truTV, a division of Turner, announced the greenlight of an all-new scripted series from comedy legend Amy Sedaris (Strangers with Candy, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt). In the Untitled Amy Sedaris Project, Sedaris will apply her sincere yet distinctive brand of silliness to a one-of-a-kind mash up of hospitality, variety and talk show formats. Through her imaginative characters and unique point of view, the series will showcase Sedaris' diverse but necessary homemaking skills, from Frenching beans, to gutting a trout, to crocheting miniature sweaters, to entertaining business-men. Each episode of the series will revolve around a traditional theme – such as Fish! Wood!, or Grieving! – and will seamlessly combine Sedaris' humor and talents as a crafter, chef, baker and hostess. truTV has ordered 10 half-hour episodes of the series.

"I've been doing this show in my head for years. It will be terrific to get it on TV so I can free up some wiggle room up in my skull," said Sedaris.

A prolific actress, author, comedian and rabbit educator, Sedaris has appeared often on screen, both large and small. She is the co-creator, with Stephen Colbert and Paul Dinello, of the hit cult comedy series Strangers with Candy and half of the Obie-winning "Talent Family" playwright team (with her brother, David). She is also the author of two best-selling books, I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence and Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People.

"It only took one meeting for us to want this show out of Amy's head and on our air," said Marissa Ronca, executive vice president and head of programming for truTV. "Amy is a creative genius who, throughout her career, has created authentic, original characters and worlds that comedy fans like us have loved. We're incredibly excited to bring her specific and hilarious brand of comedy to truTV."

The Untitled Amy Sedaris Project is produced by PFFR, with executive producers Sedaris, Alyson Levy, John Lee and Vernon Chatman. The series will go into production this summer.

truTV Announces New Series Premiere Dates Plus Projects in Development

Network Also Reveals Guest Stars for Upscale with Prentice Penny and Talk Show the Game Show

truTV announced today a series of premiere dates and new projects in development during its Television Critics Association Press Tour Panel. The news further bolsters the Turner-owned network's diverse slate of creator-driven programming that has evolved it into a premium comedic destination with significant ratings growth. Check out a little of what truTV has coming up in 2017 at https://goo.gl/sTMqRQ.

truTV's all-new lifestyle series Upscale with Prentice Penny will premiere on Tuesday, March 21, at 10pm ET/PT. Helmed by the noted showrunner, writer and producer Prentice Penny (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Insecure) and infused with his comedic sensibility, the unscripted series will premiere 12 episodes in its first season. In each half-hour episode, creator and host Penny will embark on a journey to demystify what it takes to live an upscale life, exploring a variety of topics ranging from food and wine to travel and fashion. From buying a better bottle of wine to getting a custom-made suit for less than some off-the-rack options, Upscale with Prentice Penny is about offering viewers ways to live a more elevated lifestyle by unlocking a world that often feels unattainable. Penny will be joined on his journey by some famous friends including Adam Pally (The Mindy Project) and Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and will "upscale" a range of topics including travel, the workday, date night, apologies, dressing up, cooking, your sex life, gift giving, summer, home entertainment, health and fitness, and taking a day off. The series is executive produced by Defy Media, with Penny, Chris Pollack and Jared Hoffman executive-producing alongside James Moore. Watch the trailer for the show at https://goo.gl/KW3a2v.

Comedian Guy Branum (The Mindy Project, Chelsea Lately) brings his distinct point of view to truTV with Talk Show the Game Show which premieres Wednesday, April 5, at 10pm ET/PT. Based on Branum's popular live comedy show, the 16-episode, half-hour series is a hilarious mashup of two beloved television formats that pits celebrities against each other for the title of "Best Guest of the Night." Each week, celebrity guests become contestants as they compete in various talk show-inspired challenges and are judged and awarded points for their performances. Those who will brave the scrutiny of the comedic panel of judges roasting them along the way – including Emmy®-winning writer Karen Kilgariff – are Chelsea Handler, Maria Bamford, John Sally and Wanda Sykes. The series begins production in Los Angeles in January and is produced by Push It Productions, with Wanda Sykes, Page Hurwitz and Branum serving as executive producers.

Created by and starring Andrea Savage (Veep, Episodes, Sleeping with Other People), truTV's scripted half-hour comedy series I'm Sorry premieres Wednesday, June 21, at 10pm ET/PT and follows seemingly confident, together comedy writer, wife and mom Andrea (played by Savage), who comically exposes her inner immaturity and neuroses through unexpected life situations. Joining Savage in this 10-episode first season are series regulars Tom Everett Scott (Southland) as Andrea's more straitlaced husband Mike and newcomer Olive Petrucci as Andrea and Mike's inquisitive daughter Amelia. The series will begin production in Los Angeles in February with several episodes directed by Amy York Rubin. I'm Sorry is produced by Kablamo! and Gloria Sanchez Productions, with Savage, Jessica Elbaum, Jason Zaro, Billy Rosenberg, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer all serving as executive producers. Watch the first clip from the show at https://goo.gl/KlGVTY.

Additionally, truTV has also ordered two new pilot presentations for concepts currently in development. First, from creator and host Amanda Seales (Insecure, truTV's Greatest Ever) comes the new comedic social commentary game show, Smart, Funny and Black. Based on her monthly live comedy show of the same name, Seales challenges professional funny folks (comics, writers, producers) to compete in various games that test their knowledge, taste, and understanding of current and historical black popular culture. Each episode, Amanda crowns one winner and their portrait is added to the wall of the "Illustrious League of Master Blacksperts." Smart, Funny and Black is produced by Main Event Media and All3Media America, with Seales, Jimmy Fox and Greg Lipstone executive-producing. Seales also currently brings her unique comedy voice to truTV as the host of the pop-culture comedy countdown show Greatest Ever, airing Fridays on truTV.

truTV also ordered a pilot presentation of Apocalypse Video, a new series that delves into the fascinating world of found footage from different eras. Hosted by Judah Friedlander (star of the upcoming stand-up feature America is the Greatest Country in the United States) and produced by Abso Lutely Productions, the series is executive-produced by Friedlander and Dave Kneebone, as well as Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher from Found Footage Festival.

And, as previously announced, 2017 will also bring the premieres of additional new and returning series on truTV including the second season premiere of the fan-favorite investigative comedy series Adam Ruins Everything, the third season premiere of the network's first scripted comedy series Those Who Can't and the series premiere of the scripted comedic anthology series Bobcat Goldthwait's Messed Up Stories, among others.
